A Multiple Award-Winning Restaurant

Corwen finds itself at the heart of Arthurian legend and Welsh folklore. What is no myth, however, is that whilst Abul’s Spice Indian Restaurant is one of many places in Corwen to enjoy a light snack, tasty take-away or a hearty dinner, it is the only restaurant in the area where you can expect to find a truly great, award winning curry. And not just curry, either. As a multiple award winning establishment, Abul’s Spice has an extensive menu of traditional Indian fare and specialities from across the subcontinent. From the humble Aloo Chat to their very own Sizzling Zamela, it is officially the best curry house in Wales, and that’s not just the locals saying so.

The judges for both the regional and the national Welsh Curry Awards said so in 2015, and then a similarly impressed panel of ‘Food Awards in Wales’ judges awarded the restaurant the coveted ‘Best Indian Establishment in Wales’ in 2016. So, if it’s great curry you’re after, Abul’s Spice’s award winning restaurant has the best there is for miles around – and that’s official!

Welsh Curry House of the Year 2015

“Independent regional judges visited the 30 restaurants as ‘mystery diners’ to judge them on extensive criteria detailed on a scorecard. This year a dead-heat in North Wales between Maahis in Wrexham and the eventual overall Welsh winners Abul’s Spice proved especially challenging to call. But whilst the regional draw stood, it was Abul’s Welsh Lamb dish that stood out to earn the business the [national] title of Welsh Curry House of the Year 2015.”
